These samples are representative of my work and show some of the types of projects I’ve completed. Most of the samples are older, as I’m contractually prohibited from republishing the majority of work I’ve created in the past decade.
I have changed the names of people and any information that might be proprietary.
Thank you for reviewing my work.
Strategic internal communications
The Index of articles I wrote for What’s Brewing, the Boyd Coffee Company newsletter, contains about 20 samples that illustrate the breadth of strategic communication contained in the newsletters.
Print periodical articles (original unedited versions)
This article was originally published by Computer Bits under a different title.
I wrote this article for Computer Bits in 1997. The advice was fine for its time, but not relevant for this century.
an article I wrote for annual publication about a non-profit organization, “Friends of Trees”
I wrote this cautionary feature article for Ampersand, the monthly newsletter for members of Oregon/Columbia IABC (International Association of Business Communicators), in ’98 for use in ’99; it is humorous, but true
Web content (original unedited versions)
index of articles I wrote for a how-to Web site that was later acquired by a content mill
marketing articles I wrote for goodguys.com, a consumer electronics e-tailer; these articles are accurate (for their time), but heavily biased toward getting people to buy online
A letter and press release I edited for a client
I edited this article for an internal publication for a medical cooperative organization.

statement stuffer (Boyd Coffee Company)
letter to retail customers (Boyd Coffee Company)
new packaging project (Boyd Coffee Company)
I wrote and designed the brochure OCIABC (the Oregon/Columbia chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators) used to promote membership to prospective members. This is a tri-fold brochure. The PDF shows the front and back of the unfolded brochure.
Members of the OCIABC board of directors took turns writing this column. This one is a humorous marketing column. It’s true. March ‘99

Radio and audio production samples
I worked in radio in all capacities for seven years before, during, and after college. The index of sound files made from reel tapes includes samples of my radio projects and material recorded for a comedy album.
